What is hotshot trucking?

There are various meanings and definitions that can define hotshot trucking. From my viewpoint and experience, hotshot transportation is freight and equipment that is time sensitive to get to it's delivery location. The typical hot shot is a class 3-5 truck with a 30-40ft trailer. The most commonly used style trailer is a 40ft gooseneck, like captured in the photo above. This obviously differentiates with what kind of freight that is needing the expedited service. The “hotshot” term originated in the Texas oilfields and now is used nationwide. Pickup trucks and smaller trailers would make quick trips for parts and cargo that were needed to keep the fields up and running accordingly. Now, there are thousands of drivers transporting these loads all across the country.

From Farm equipment to pallets of roofing materials, The One Call Logistics Team is here to help you with our hotshot trucking services! We are pros when it comes to delivering your time sensitive loads. Local or long distance, put your trust in us to get your freight fast. Although many of these loads are construction materials, and farming supplies, we move many different commodities that are considered hot shot loads. Need a Covid-19 mobile testing trailer transported in a hurry? Or possibly even a horse trailer that needs to get to the ranch for a last-minute show? That is what we're here for! We transport hotshot loads from job site to jobsite, manufacturer to distributor, and every place in between.

We have the logistics experience and expertise to beat your deadline, and still move your load with care. Many of our drivers have experience in construction and manufacturing work so we understand how one piece of equipment or material can determine the outcome of a job site. This is why our clients continuously choose our hotshot trucking service day in and day out. We deliver and fulfill their needs in time sensitive situations.

As wildfires become more frequent and intense across the U.S., the demand for fast, reliable emergency response grows more urgent by the year. Behind every successful wildfire containment effort is a powerful network of moving parts—from fire crews and equipment to mobile command centers, light towers, water tankers, and power units. None of it reaches the front lines without logistics . But not all logistics providers are built for crisis response. When lives, property, and natural resources are on the line, having the right logistics partner can be the difference between delay and action, between chaos and coordination.
